This Sunday 6/27/2010 Pastor Ray and Jamie will be hosting a BBQ at their house! They'll be providing the meat, and if you could either bring a side to share or a $3 donation, it would be appreciated! The BBQ starts at 11AM, so that means service will not be held at church this Sunday.

This past week I attended the CCA Conference over in San Francisco. This coming week, I'll be in Oakland getting ready for our wedding followed by a week in Maui for our honeymoon. After we come back from our honeymoon, we'll be in Oakland for one more week before driving back up to Seattle. That's a total of 4 weeks away from church and ministry.

Thoughts about ministry and images of people at church continue to swirl through my mind. This morning as I attended Bay Area Chinese Bible Church with Jamie, I can't help but pray for our leadership at RCAC as they minister to people this morning. Even though I can't be at church, God is stretching my faith. Even though I can't be there, I know that God is present. Even though I can't do anything, I know that God is at work. I realize that the ministry at RCAC is not mines. All of us have our roles in ministry and the ministry belongs to our Lord.

May we continue to place our faith in God as we serve our Lord together.

I've been encouraged this past summer to see a few new faces among our youth. It's during these moments that you realize that God is at work in our church. Whenever we feel like we're going through a rough patch and we feel like giving up, God brings these small little blessings into our lives to remind us that He has not forgotten us and that He is the one who is still in control.

I'm reminded that I need to stay faithful to do the work that God has called me to do. I'm excited to see how God works in our midst this Fall. I look forward to sharing more in the future.

Chicken Skewers and Grilled PineapplesYummm... food...Singing Worship Songs to our Lord

Thank You Pastor Durkee and Ella Mae for opening up your house for the church. We had a great time talking and singing together. There was a lot of great food. There were some good marinated chicken on skewers... and grilled pineapples on the grill. At the end of the evening, we had some great dessert provided by Ella Mae.

Inbetween all the food... we got the full tour of the house... great stories by Pastor Durkee... and a lot of great singing around the piano. It was another great night for all of us to remember.

Our next great event will be on the 4th of July. We'll be having a Picnic/BBQ at Juanita Beach Park in Kirkland. Burgers and Hot Dogs are provided. More meat is always welcome! There should be a lot of 4th of July events in the area that kids can participate in. You don't want to miss out. The picnic will be from 12:00pm-3:00pm. Give me a ring to let me know that you're coming or send me an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . We want to make sure we have enough food!!
