It's been three years since I graduated from Multnomah Seminary. That's also the period of time that I've spent away from theological reading. Our small group is going to be reading Grudem's Systematic Theology. It'll be a challenge for everybody because reading is one of the last things we want to do during our spare time. But this is something that our small group wanted to do and it's something that I've wanted to do for quite some time.

I'm also a little behind writing papers for ordination. Going through a theology book in small group is just the thing I need to get me going. I'm "scheduled" to have be done with my ordination requirements by October. But because of the wedding and adjustments in ministry, my goal is to finish by March 2010.

My prayer through this process is that God would transform my spirit. I could treat it like an "assignment" but I would much rather look at it as my special time with God.

Systematic Theology is a good book.
I have learned a lot from it and I hope your small group will benefit from it as well.
