NL: Kim Phuong is a Vietnamese restaurant. It is located at the corner of Sunset and Duvall and it's about 4 mins from church.

Kim Phuong “inherited” it’s location from a Tully’s. It has a fireplace, a flat-screen, and worn-brown furniture. I favor flat-screens at restaurants because it keeps you from being bored while waiting for your food, or while eating alone. It is kept pretty clean especially when you compare it to the average Asian restaurant. The area and the restaurant itself are pretty quiet.

I ordered pho and calamari at Kim Phuong but never rice dishes because I prefer the former. The quantity of food was reasonable/lean-expensive for the price. The broth seemed cleaner than average pho broth, though one might say it’s diluted. There might be a slight bit of MSG as I felt a little dehydrated after the meal. The noodle seemed fresh and had a decent “bounce” to it. Calamari was good but few in quantities. They offer XXL size if L is not enough for your appetite.  They don’t have cream puffs (some might consider this an issue).

Service was decent as the waitress comes by from time to time to fill your water.

Overall it was a good experience at Kim Phuong. Although they aren’t as good as Pho Bac at Chinatown, I’d say they are one of the better ones you can find near the church area. It’s relatively close and a healthier alternative compared to fast food.
